With over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Michelle Smeltzer has dedicated her career to providing exceptional patient care and advancing nursing practice. Starting as a diploma nurse, she quickly progressed to become a registered nurse in critical care, earning both her Associate’s and Master of Science degrees in Nursing, along with a post-master’s certificate in Nursing Administration.
For the past decade, Michelle has leveraged her extensive clinical experience as a Legal Nurse Consultant, bringing a unique perspective to the intersection of nursing and law. Her background encompasses a wide array of specialties, including medical-surgical nursing, emergency department care, and anesthesia, as well as roles as a staff nurse, clinical educator, nurse manager, and director.
Michelle’s passion for education is evident in her experience as both a hospital and academic clinical educator, where she has inspired and mentored countless nursing professionals. Currently, she continues to work clinically as a staff nurse, maintaining her commitment to hands-on patient care while shaping the future of nursing through her consultancy work.
